Live and Local
Good Way Sundays deliver world-class performances and engaging educational activities to the southern Emporia community on the first Sunday of each month in partnership with House of Morrow, and Emporia Arts Council.
In addition to the concert series, GWG partners with local organizations like Emporia Public Library, Native Lands Kansas, and ESU's Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center to produce a seed swap with community-building and educational components.

Enrique Chi is the leader of the Latin Grammy–nominated band Making Movies, crafting psychedelic rock ’n’ roll rooted in the rich rhythmic traditions of Panamá. Rolling Stone describes the band as “an eclectic blend of rumbero percussion, delicate organs, and grungy fuzz rock.” Chi's performances always feature the mejorana, a rare Panamanian folkloric instrument made by only five remaining luthiers worldwide, both preserving its cultural lineage and ushering it into new sonic territory.
NPR calls Making Movies “perhaps one of the most unique groups around today—sensual, smoky, and seductive.” Chi’s career includes collaborations with legendary artists such as Rubén Blades, performances at major international festivals, and tours with notable acts including Los Lobos, Ozomatli, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Maldita Vecindad.
Beyond the stage, Chi is the founder of Celebrate AMERI’KANA, a festival in Kansas City that broadens the definition of what it means to make “American” music.
Playing the greatest hits of the turn of the last century, Grandpa Snazzy continues in the tradition of BMG clubs! Featuring violin, mandolin, guitar, banjo, and cello, Grandpa Snazzy plays a wide repertoire ranging from 1880s banjo pieces to silent film to 1920s dance music and more! Snazzy exudes ambiance for any event, but is quintessential to your early-20th-century themed party.
Whether it’s sleepy music for the boozy, smoky speakeasy, or fast and rowdy foxtrots and two-steps, Grandpa Snazzy will take you back in time, and make you feel good too!
Unfit Wives made their initial appearance on the scene in January 2019 as a five-piece act strapped with instruments, clad in boots, and armed with original tunes. Huddled around a single mic, each member of the group takes turns singing and delivering their own unique brand of “unfit”-ness.
Bobcat Opossum is a tune slinging, genre bending duo from the back alleys of the Midwestern wilderness. They’ve picked through the field and around the campfires for the tastiest folk songs and fiddle tunes in all the land. They have trod the rugged roads of Irish and Old Time American traditional music and have lived to tell the tales.
Multi-instrumentalists Sean Hoffman and Ellen Coplin prepare a slow-roasted feast for the ears, garnished with homegrown original songs. Pull up a chair, but be warned, you may get the feeling that you are in exactly the right place at the right time.
Original music from right here in Emporia, featuring tunes by Rick Garcia
Consider themselves "Rural sci-fi existentialists" asked by the higher powers to establish creative freedom in the most unlikely locations.
Embracing a literary compost pile of poetry, history, rock 'n' roll, hip-hop, and scriptures; uncoiling songs both fictional and emotional, true to life, and true to life on the astral planes, Bill Edwards clogs it all together into Dimension.
